If I was in charge of my neighborhood I would give Kingsessing a makeover. I would start by getting rid of all the nasty burned up houses crowding the neighborhood. I would then plant more trees and gardens making my neighborhood more relaxing.

All Goo∂ Things Come to an End :(
Even with the positive things in the Kingsessing community unfortunately there are also negatives. Kingsessing has gun shootings and drug crimes in the neighborhood and is dangerous at night. There also is theft in my neighborhood. For example, if you leave your bike outside for more than 10 minutes it will be gone when you come back.

Happy Places
Kingsessing isn’t always bad place to live. There are multiple children parks with recreation centers that hold day camps over the summer. There are also lots of different places of worship to fit any religious need. Sometimes there are even block parties in different parts of the neighborhood during the summer they also do often street cleanings to keep our neighborhood looking good. During the summer there's loads of activities and excitement happening in Kingsessing

Kingsessing's History
Kingsessing is a neighborhood in Southwest Philadelphia. It starts on 47th street and ends on the border of 58th street close to Cobbs Creek and 60th street. The name Kingsessing comes from the Delaware Indian word for “ a place where there is a meadow”. The Kingsessing area was originally settled by Swedes in 1644, making Kingsessing the oldest settled area in the Philadelphia County. At the beginning of the 20th century, Kingsessing went from being a farmland to a populated residential area with workingmen, clerks and other middle class people. Today, the neighborhood is predominately African-American.
